Our Story

Any parent knows that they would do anything for their child, even something as uncomfortable as fundraising to help their child. We can’t bring our precious babe home without your help. Please share our story…

While Doug and I had planned on adopting again in the future, I was surprised with a call from our agency. Our daughter Mya’s birthmother is expecting and wants us to adopt her baby boy due in only a few short months. Though we were excited at the news a look at our finances told us it was impossible. With adoption fees totaling over $40,000 (more than twice the fee for Mya's adoption) we knew there was no way my husband and I could possibly pay for this adoption. Over the past month we have done everything we can think of to come up with the money, including refinancing our home, looking at loans, slashing our budget, and setting up a garage sale. We are reaching out to anyone that can help us, no matter the size of the donation.

Please help us keep these beautiful children together. We deeply appreciate any and all donations, suggestions, and prayers.

Garage Sale Status

Today I spent about four hours in the garage going through the garage sale stuff, picking out what should be sold online, separating the other stuff into categories, and starting to arrange it for the garage sale.  There's a lot of stuff y'all! It's gonna be huge! Thank you! The categories are clothes (they need to be separated into sizes still) and shoes, home decor, electronics, baby and kid stuff, linens (pillows, sheets, blankets, curtains, etc.), scrapbooking items, media (books, CD, DVD, VHS), furniture, aaaaand I think that's it. Thank you to everyone who has donated items! Once again we are amazed at the generosity we have been shown.

I am sorry to ask for more help, but we are in need of a couple more things to make this garage sale a success. We borrowed three tables today (thank you friends!!), but we need about four more. We could borrow some from the church, but not until the day of (in case someone else needs to borrow them before the 23rd), and I'd really like to get it set up way before then because then I have to work on pricing all the stuff. So if you have tables you'd be willing to let us borrow, be sure you won't need them 'til after the 23rd. The other thing is we need some medium/regular sized cardboard boxes to separate the clothes into different sizes with. Diaper boxes would be perfect.

Thank you. again! We know we would not have the majority of our funds raised, or much at all to put in the garage sale without you. Thank you.
